About…

My Dharma name is Ajanatha. I am a practitioner and teacher of Dzogchen Atiyoga and Buddhism with thirty years of experience in the Dzogchen and Vajrayāna traditions. My journey began at nineteen, fueled by a deep aspiration that has evolved towards the study of classical philosophy, traditional Vajrayana training, into the study and practice of Chod, and eventually the path of the Great Perfection. My study and practice developed in the context of the traditional study and training approaches within the Tibetan Tradition.
For seven years I engaged in dedicated and intensive traditional philosophical study under the guidance of Tibetan masters. Also, throughout this period and the decades after that, I did the complete traditional training and received teachings, transmissions and personal instructions from several esteemed teachers, most notably H.E. Ayang Rinpoche, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche and H.E. Garchen Rinpoche.
For the last ten years, I have lived permanently in a hermitage in the mountains of Portugal. This was a deliberate choice to dedicate myself fully to a life of retreat, study and practice, while moving to a continuous, lived experience of the path. During this period I wrote several books on topics ranging from Buddhist Philosophy to Dzogchen, some of which I share freely on this website for those who wish to explore them.
Today, I share these teachings through Sahaja Dharma. Having functioned both within and outside traditional Buddhist structures, I prioritize the raw essence of the Dharma over institutional form. My work is grounded on the personal instructions and private confirmation of my root teacher, and my commitment to the contemplative path and personal experience.
I teach in an informal, non-sectarian context, aiming to express clearly the “Naked Essence” of the Dharma— the discovery of the nature of mind itself—for the genuine seeker.
